(Monrovia, Liberia, 13, 2026) — The Ministry of Health (MOH), through its Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries (NCDI) Unit, has concluded a final technical review of Liberia’s draft Physiotherapy Standards of Practice, Scope of Practice, and Professional Definition.

The one-day validation workshop, held Wednesday at the Ministry of Health in Monrovia, was organized in collaboration with World Physiotherapy and World Hope International (WHI). It brought together government institutions, health professionals, academic institutions, professional associations, and development partners to examine the draft documents before their formal adoption.

The review focused on validating the proposed scopes of practice for physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, and physiotherapy technicians, while refining the standards and professional definitions that will guide the delivery of physiotherapy services nationwide.

The Ministry of Health acknowledged the technical and financial support provided by World Physiotherapy, World Hope International, and other stakeholders, describing the partnership as vital to strengthening rehabilitation services and advancing Liberia’s broader health sector reforms.
