The supplies that were presented by Minister Howard’s Special Assistant, Benyan Baikai, includes medical machines, body bags, hospital beds, fire extinguishers, and moveable clutches among others.
A release signed by the Ministry’s Communication Consultant, Sorbor George, quotes Mr. Baikai as saying the items worth over 50 thousand United States Dollars.
He said the donation is part of effort to strengthen and improve the country healthcare delivery.
In 2012, with the help of USAID and other partners, the Bensonville Hospital which was then a health center, was elevated to a full scale hospital, providing all services.
It currently caters for people in the Todee and Careyburg districts including some residents from Bushrod Island.
Receiving the medical and non-medical supplies, the Hospital Medical Director, Aaron Kollie, thanked the ministry for the supplies and they would go a long way serving the people.
He promised to replace the old beds with the new ones and create more bedding capacity.
