(Monrovia, Liberia, December 9, 2025) — The Ministry of Health (MOH), has commenced a five-day Primary Health Care (PHC) Performance Management Training for twenty-four (24) Primary Health Care Managers, drawn from six counties across southeastern and western Liberia.
The training is being held simultaneously in Tubmanburg and Harper City. It is a pilot project supported by the Joint Learning Fund at Amref Health in Nairobi.
Liberia is conducting the program alongside the Philippines and South Africa under the Primary Health Care Performance Management Collaborative, an international partnership designed to strengthen PHC systems and advance progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Participants from Bomi, Gbarpolu, Rivercess, Sinoe, Grand Kru, and Maryland counties will receive intensive instruction to improve their ability to manage health facilities through the use of reliable data and evidence-based decision-making.
Over the five days, trainees will acquire essential skills in basic information technology, data tools utilization, data analysis, visualization, and quality improvement (QI).
They will also develop and implement mini-projects tailored to their respective health facilities, projects expected to strengthen service quality and enhance health outcomes at the community level.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts to build frontline leadership, improve health service delivery, and equip PHC managers with the technical competencies required to drive performance at the facility level.
