It is often said “where there is a will there is a way”. The National Drugs Service feds on this mantra to pull an impossible streak of consistency in delivering lifesaving medicine across the country especially during the rainy season. In furtherance of the President’s Pro-poor agenda, the National Drug Service now the Central Medical Stores is determined to ensure that medication and medical supplies are available throughout the length and breadth of the country especially in poor rural communities.

Despite the enormity of the challenges in terms of logistics, and deplorable roads network, the managing Director Hon. Boakai Boley remains upbeat about the health sector transformation under this President and the robust MOH leadership.   “Sometime it’s not how much you’ve  got, or how bad the circumstances are. It is about your drive, guts and determination for glory to God and for Country.” Hon. Boley said.

Despite the impossible roads especially in the Southeast the NDS has successfully delivered to all 14 counties and commences Montserrado distribution on October 10.  Hon. Boley Expressed delight in the president’s reaffirmation of National Road connectivity as this Government’s top priority. “Roads bring development and promotes rapid multi spectral positive transformation in the right trajectory”. Director Boley Lamented. He Thanked Minister Jallah and entire MOH leadership for their coordination and support. He also expressed gratitude to critical development partners: (USIAD, GLOBAL FUND, UNFPA, UNICEF and WHO among others) for their technical and financial support which make these delivers possible.

Since his ascendancy, the NDS has had consistent uninterrupted quarterly nationwide distribution with shrinking stock out crisis. These medicines include critical TB, HIV and Malaria therapies as well as essential medicine and medical supplies.
