(Monrovia, Liberia, July 30, 2026) — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thursday welcomed a high-level technical delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to begin a comprehensive assessment of the Emirate Hospital, to evaluate the facility’s current condition and identify priorities to improve service delivery.
The assessment will cover the hospital’s medical infrastructure, biomedical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, information technology, physical structures, and overall engineering integrity to determine the facility’s operational readiness and future investment needs.
Minister of Health Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto, accompanied by members of the Ministry’s senior management team, received the visiting delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in Monrovia.
She said assessment is an important step toward strengthening Liberia’s healthcare infrastructure through international collaboration.
The UAE delegation is comprised of H.E. Amb. Mohammed Momolu Dukuly, Liberia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; Maath Hamdan Hasan Aljallaf Alzaabi, Team Lead and Facilities Manager; Syed Murtuza Qadri, Corporate Senior Civil Engineer; Yasser Mahmoud Awaad Abouelnaga, Administrative Assistant; Omer Ibrahim Osman, Senior Biomedical Engineer; Dr. Khalifa Mohammed Saif Bakhit Alkaabi, Consultant Physician; Mohammed Ameen Salem Al Katheri, Senior Electrical Engineer; and Abdillahi Ali Abdillahi Jama, IT Service Operations specialist.
The multidisciplinary team is expected to conduct a detailed technical inspection of the Emirate Hospital, examining critical components of the facility, including its structural integrity, medical systems, engineering infrastructure, electrical and mechanical installations, biomedical equipment, and digital support systems.
The visit underscores the growing partnership between Liberia and the United Arab Emirates in advancing healthcare development and reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that modern, safe, and efficient health facilities are available to meet the needs of the Liberian population.
