(January 26, 2026) The meeting brought together staff of the County Health Team, District Health Team, and health facility staff, as well as partners and local government officials, and a representative from the County Health Services division of the Ministry of Health
The meeting, which was held in Sanniquellie, showcased significant progress in key service delivery indicators and infrastructure development for 2025
The county recorded significant progress in immunization coverage, a significant reduction in maternal mortality, increased availability of drugs and health commodities at health facilities etc.
In areas of health infrastructure, the county recorded the construction of 5 new Clinics and one county Vaccine storage facility, construction of 3 new waste zones and wash facilities, Construction of 2 new maternal waiting homes, and renovation of an additional 5. Renovation of 3 Clinics was also recorded.
The county also expanded health services with the addition of 13 new clinics (3 public and 10 private). With these additions, the number of health facilities in the county grew from 76 to 89 in 2025.
In areas of logistics, the county received 28 new motorbike two new Toyota Land Cruisers (SUV &Pickup), and one light-duty truck to boost logistical support.
The county also recorded a strong performance in the recently introduced CRDF, raising hopes of sustainability driven by local resource mobilization.
In areas of Human resource management, the County thanks the Ministry of Health for the placement of 96 of its volunteers on the Government payroll.
At the end of the program, 8 of 11 health districts were awarded certificates for being the best-performing health districts. 40 health facilities were awarded for innovation and best practices. The occasion also honored long-serving and dedicated health workers in the county.
For his part, the County Health Officer, Dr. Ponnie Robertlee Dolo, thanked the Ministry of Health, Partners, and the Nimba County Administration for supporting the county and called for renewed efforts to further boost health care services and health infrastructure development in Nimba in 2026.
