The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Liberia in collaboration with partners has developed an integrated reproductive, maternal, newborn child and adolescent health (RMNCAH) investment case that seeks to improve six major health system constraints to the implementation of RMNCAH services in the country. These services include emergency obstetrics and neonatal care, and prevention of unwanted pregnancies through the delivery of family planning services in public and private facilities for women, adolescents and young people.
Considering the high and unacceptable maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality rate in Liberia, the Ministry of Health along with developmental partners is committed in ensuring that the implementation of the national RMNCAH investment case is based on evidence-based strategies that enhance quality and sustainable reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health services. Additionally, monitoring and evaluation of implementation at the sub-national levels (County, District, and Community levels) within the context of the counties operational plans is very essential for integration of the entire process.
